Description
The LC79D is an ultra-compact, AIS-140 compliant GNSS module measuring 10.1mm × 9.7mm × 2.4mm, which features a concurrent multi-constellation GNSS receiver on dual GNSS bands.
The module supports L1 and L5 bands for GPS, Galileo, GLONASS , BeiDou IRNSS and QZSS. This increases the number of satellites which can be involved in tracking and positioning, thereby significantly reducing the multipath effect from tall buildings in dense urban environments, reducing signal acquisition time and improving positioning accuracy. In addition to this the module’s on-board LNAs and SAW filters serve to ensure better positioning in weak signal areas and harsh environments.
The LC79D’s advanced power management and 28nm process technology makes the module ideal for power-sensitive and battery-powered systems. The module’s combination of compact design, low power consumption and high performance makes it a popular choice for real-time tracking systems for vehicles, people and assets, as well as for sharing economy applications.
